Things to do in Seoul
Gyeongbokgung; Probably one of the greatest palaces in Korea, with a great history. It was torn down by the japanese during their occupation and turned into a zoo after WW2 but restored to its prime. General Lee statue just out the front gate also. Directions; Line 3, Gyeongbokgung stop, exit 5.
Korean War Memorial; Not just about the Korean war but all of the wars that affected Korea. For me it's a great place with a lot of information, you'll need more than one visit to really take it in. If your not interested still worth a look. Directions; Line 4&6, Samgakji stop, exit 12, 5 min walk.
City Hall; There is a small museum and display of current tourist attraction projects. There is another palace and museum near by that has a more authentic feel. Directions; Line 2, City hall stop, (i forget) but any exit should be ok, once you get above ground you'll see things clearly.
Dongdeamun; Is a market area, good place to pick up knick knacks and bargains. And you can check out the east gate. Directions; Line 1&4, Dongdeamun stop, any exit.... but I'd recommend exit 12, follow the outdoor stalls then cross over the Cheonggycheon, the three really big buildings have nice stalls and outdoor ones are around aswel.
Cheonggyecheon; Is a small river about 4 mile long in the north part of Seoul that has a walkway along it and many distractions along the way. Really nice for a walk especially on a hot day. You can join in the route anywhere (eg.dongdeamun above) but there is a museum thingy at that you can go to by one of the following... Directions; Line 1, Jegi stop, Exit 4, 15 min walk OR Line 2, Exit 5, 10 min walk.
Hondea; The only place to go for a night out in my opinion (www.seoulpubcrawl.com) Directions; Line 2, Hongik University, Any exit... but I'd recommend exit 2 for no particular reason other than it's central.
Itewon; Y'know the way most cities have a chinatown, well this is Westernertown. I'll give the directions to the Irish pub (it's well hidden) but I'd advise not hiding out there and go take part in Korea more. Directions. Itewon, Exit2, So, when you're above ground you should be at a cross roads. you should also see the some big hotel (i think its called the hamiltion.) go down the strip of road that is opposite (not adjacent) to the hotel. walk down on the right side and take your first right down an alley. it's down there on the second floor of one of the buildings.
Lotte world; is a huge indoor amusement park. Directions; Line 2, Jamsil stop.
Everland; is a huge outdoor amusment park. You need to go by bus, there are many direct buses scattered around.
Bukhansan; is the best place to go for a hike. line 1, Dobongsan station.
Gwanaksan; is nice because of the temple also. Gwanak station, line 1. The sammak temple is located in.
some other stuff to check out that I haven't had a chance to;
World Comic Con Convention, (Metro Line 3, Hagnyeoul station.)
Seodaemun Prison, (Metro Line 3, Dongnimmun stn, exit 5.)
N Seoul Tower (Namsan Tower) (Metro Line 3 or 4, Chungmuro stn or line 3 Dongguk University),
